Writing, research, and content work
Claude can help draft and revise text, summarize material, compare ideas, and answer questions about long documents. If web search or research tools are available in your account, ask Claude to look up current information and show its sources. Check those sources yourself before relying on important claims.
Files, Projects, and Artifacts
Supported file types can include PDF, DOCX, CSV, and XLSX; some formats and analysis features depend on the tools enabled for your account. Projects group related chats, instructions, and reference files. Artifacts provide a separate workspace for substantial outputs such as code, documents, visualizations, or small interactive apps that you can revise and share.
Coding and connected tools
Claude Code supports software work from a terminal, while integrations and MCP connections can let Claude use approved external sources. Availability differs by plan and workspace, and connection permissions deserve careful review. Choose features based on a real workflow need and your account’s limits rather than assuming every tool is included everywhere.
Choose a feature for a task
Define the work before picking a tool: upload a file for a document review, use a Project for ongoing context, an Artifact for an editable prototype, or Claude Code for terminal work. You do not need to use every feature in one workflow.
